Next-generation collar for long-lasting parasite protection in cats and dogs

Vignette_corpo_prevexto.jpgSince August, our teams in France offer a new antiparasitic collar, protecting cats and dogs for up to 8 months from external parasites, addressing the global need to combat vector-borne diseases. In addition to ticks and fleas, it protects dogs against lice and reduces the risk of transmission of leishmania with indirect use on the vector. This new solution that supports continuum of care will progressively be available in other European countries, starting with Germany, Netherlands and Slovenia.

Every day, dogs and cats are exposed to parasites, which are vectors for various diseases affecting their health and potentially our own. Antiparasitic treatments are therefore essential for their well-being, but also for preventing the transmission of these diseases to humans. Our reasoned approach to antiparasitics aims to offer the right product, at the right time, and at the correct dosage.

Thanks to our wide range of solutions, we can adapt protection to the specific needs of each animal (based on its species, age, lifestyle, and environment) and local parasite presence. Thus, cats and dogs sometimes require antiparasitic protection over several months. This is the case, for example, in the Mediterranean region, where dogs are exposed  from spring to autumn to an increased risk of many diseases transmitted by parasites, notably Leishmaniasis.

To maximize the long-term effectiveness of the protection, our teams are now offering a new collar that guarantees a continuous and uniform release of active ingredients onto the animal's skin and coat without systemic absorption. The active ingredients, integrated into an innovative collar matrix resulting from a high-precision injection molding process, are released onto the skin and coat, covering the animal from head to tail. This also stops parasites from spreading to the environment, preventing potential re-infestation of both pets and humans.

Our new collar leverages our nearly 60 years of expertise in parasitic disease management, from prevention to diagnosis and treatment. It offers optimal and long-lasting protection for cats and dogs in a single application, helps reduce the frequency of reapplications, associated costs, and protection gaps. Manufactured and controlled in France by our qualified personnel, according to high-quality European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, it features a double safety mechanism for the peace of mind of owners and the well-being of our companion animals. Our new collar will progressively be available in other European countries, starting with Germany, Netherlands and Slovenia.
