Electronic identification: 1st mini polymeric transponder in Europe

cat-backhome.jpgFaithful to its strategy of continuous innovation, this year Virbac is launching the 1st mini polymeric transponder in Europe (France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Belgium), the BackHome® Biotec Slim Transponder.

The Virbac Group, one of the pioneers in electronic identification offered the first BackHome®systems in 1993. In 2013, present in eighteen countries worldwide, the Virbac Group is the leader in Europe with over one million transponders sold annually.
 
The 1st mini polymeric transponder in Europe for greater animal welfare
  • This mini polymeric transponder, thinner, lighter and unbreakable is intended to replace the standard-sized transponders currently sold in Europe. Despite its miniaturisation, the scanning distance remains one of the best on the market (up to 25 cm).
  • This new mini polymeric transponder (or new microchip) has a reduced diameter and is therefore implanted using a finer needle (just 2.0 mm in diameter, instead of 2.6 mm currently), thus improving the animal's welfare.
  • The new implanter is still ergonomic, ready to use and with a no-return click system that allows a quick and safe implantation.
  • The implanter needle is now detachable for easy health care waste management.
The BackHome® Biotec Slim Transponder can be used with all target species already covered by the BackHome® system: dogs, cats, horses, exotic pets, wildlife.
 
Three ISO accredited scanners
Virbac offers a comprehensive range of three ISO accredited BackHome® scanners, from the pocket scanner to the most efficient with a memory capacity of up to 2000 codes: ISO MAX V, i MAX+ i, mini MAX. These scanners can read FDX-A (legacy technology) and FDX-B (current generation) transponders. International Standard ISO 11785; Emission frequency = 134.2 kHz.
