Europe: experts meet to talk about canine mobility
In June, 10 European veterinary experts in canine mobility met in Nice to share with our teams their experience and knowledge on canine mobility disorders.
At least 20% of dogs over 1 year of age and 80% over 8 years of age are affected by mobility disorders1, which can have a significant impact on their quality of life. What are the risk factors? Aging, obesity, joint lesions, among other factors, but also a predisposition of certain breeds (Labradors and German Shepherds, for example). However, there are solutions to keep dogs mobile and improve their daily well-being. Our teams have organized a special symposium in Nice on June 17, 2024 to discuss these issues.
At this event, representatives from all of our European subsidiaries were able to exchange ideas with renowned veterinarians specializing in canine joint disorders. The objective? To reflect together on the elements needed to maintain a dog's mobility; good care requires a multimodal approach, combining a healthy lifestyle from an early age with regular moderate exercises. An appropriate diet combined with the addition of specific elements known as chondroprotectors2 can also help maintain joints healthy. Since November 2022, we have been offering a comprehensive approach to joint micronutrition.
Thanks to this symposium, we continue to work hand in hand with the international scientific community to provide veterinarians and dog owners with solutions to better manage mobility disorders in dogs.
