Latin America: supporting good canine vaccination practices

vignette_corpo_webinar_immuno.jpgMore than 3,500 veterinarians in South America registered for the webinar our teams organized last April. Our goal: to share the latest recommendations on canine vaccination from the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).

At Virbac, we are committed to an integrated medical approach that promotes prevention and good care practices. Vaccination is one of the pillars of our approach to infectious disease prevention. By boosting the immune systems of pets and livestock, vaccines protect them from potentially fatal diseases and help them live healthier lives. Vaccination contributes to the rational use of curative treatments, prevents transmission to other animals or even humans (e.g. rabies or leptospirosis), and is a cornerstone of global health security.

As part of our commitment to improving the health and well-being of companion animals worldwide, our teams organized a webinar on April 3 on canine vaccination in Latin America. More than 900 veterinarians from Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica participated in this live session to learn about the latest WSAVA guidelines for canine vaccination and share best practices for canine vaccination.

On the program:

  • Mary Marcondes, chair of the WSAVA Vaccination Guidelines Group, presented the latest vaccination guidelines;
  • Séverine Boullier, Professor at the University of Toulouse and renowned immunologist, shared her knowledge and recommendations on canine immunology.

Danilo Martinez, Latin America companion animals marketing manager:The webinar was a real success, with high attendance and great interest from veterinarians. This WSAVA communication on the latest vaccination guidelines registered more than 3500 registrants and a total of 10 000 views. An unprecedented event in Latin America!

At Virbac, biology is part of our DNA. Trained at the Pasteur Institute, our founder, Pierre-Richard Dick, acquired the knowledge that would pave the way for our first vaccines.

Over the years, we have enriched our portfolio to respond to the many disease risks faced by companion animals and livestock. Today, vaccines are a strategic pillar of our global, preventive approach to animal health. Thanks to the dedication of our teams and the commitment of veterinarians, breeders and pet owners, we will continue to provide safe, reliable vaccines that improve the quality of life for animals and preserve biodiversity and ecosystems for years to come.
