USA : four new bovine vaccines against common challenges

Vignette_vaccins_USA.jpgIn January, we launched four new cattle vaccines designed to protect bovines at various stages of their growth against respiratory and reproductive challenges. This marks another milestone in our ongoing commitment to expand our offering of preventive solutions for healthier herds to veterinarians and farmers in the US.

Cattle face numerous health challenges as they mature and throughout their life, with respiratory diseases and leptospirosis being among the most prevalent. These diseases can impact animal welfare and growth, leading to potential fatalities and significant economic losses for farmers.

Adaptable solutions for various animal needs and farming practices

Since January, in partnership with manufacturer Diamond Animal Health, we are now bringing veterinarians and farmers in the USA, four new respiratory and reproductive vaccines to lineup. These vaccines provide targeted protection against key respiratory viruses, including the most common strains of bovine viral diarrheal virus (BVD). Additionally, two of the vaccines offer protection against leptospirosis, and one specifically targets Leptospira hardjo bovis. These new additions to Virbac's range offer customized solutions, supporting farmers and veterinarians in maintaining the health of their herds.

Our partnership with Diamond Animal Health is a great pairing of companies with more than 100 years of combined experience. Diamond Animal Health is recognized by the entire industry and has an excellent track record of consistent supply and proven safety,” says Dr. Fabrice Payot, Virbac USA vice president of new business.

To simplify the veterinarian's work, our products feature color-coded labels for easy identification and administration, especially beneficial when various vaccines are used based on the farm's vaccination needs.

Focusing on prevention

At Virbac, we have been committed to the advancement of animal health since our foundation. We are aware that vaccination plays a vital role not only in the prevention of disease, but also in promoting the well-being of animals, humans and the environment. Preventive measures such as vaccination are essential to reduce the use of antibiotic treatments and the risk of antibiotic resistance.

We are excited to expand our growing portfolio in an area that prioritizes animal well-being by preventing disease. Our U.S. team is made of cattle professionals who understand farmers problems firsthand and work hard to anticipate their needs,” says Giovanni Abbruzzini, Virbac USA CEO and president of North America.
