Virbac announces the appointment of Jules Minke as Group biological Research and Development director. Jules Minke’s main task going forward is to coordinate and supervise all R&D activities and global teams involved in Virbac’s biological projects. He will also monitor regulatory activities in this area.

Jules Minke will become a member of the France executive committee for France. He will report directly to Jean-Pascal Marc, director of Product Innovation for the Group, who states:
We are delighted by Jules’ arrival within our teams and have entrusted him with leading our biological research and development activities. With the experience and skills he brings, we will be able to strengthen our ability to innovate, to develop new products and be increasingly competitive in the animal health sector.

As part of his role Jules Minke must optimise the management, quality and compliance of the biological projects being carried out, by following the company’s strategic priorities, based on the pooling of the company’s R&D centres.

Jules Minke holds a PhD in veterinary medicine from the University of Utrecht’s faculty of veterinary medicine in the Netherlands. He previously worked in the R&D department at Merial. He was global director of biological research projects for various species, with particular responsibility for the Veterinary Public Health programme, with a specific interest in new diseases. Since 2014, he has also been European director of biological development projects. Before joining Merial in 1996, Jules Minke was director of the clinical department of Solvay Duphar, in charge of biological projects for domestic animals.
