Virbac Greece: 20 years dedicated to animal health

Vignette_corpo_20ans_Grece.jpgVirbac Hellas is proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its presence in Greece. Over the past two decades, Virbac Hellas has established itself as a trusted partner for veterinarians, farmers, and pet owners, driven by a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and animal well-being.

Founded in June 2005 following Virbac's acquisition of Zoforos and Animedica, Virbac Hellas retained the entire experienced technical team from Zoforos, who continued to offer their services across Greece and Cyprus. Since then, the company has played a central role in advancing animal health solutions throughout the region.

Two decades of consistent growth

Virbac Hellas has consistently shown strong growth, fueled by its broad portfolio of innovative and high-quality products, and their positive reception by veterinary professionals, particularly those focused on companion animals. These advanced solutions in dermatology, reproduction, parasitology, vaccination, and nutrition improve the quality of life for companion animals and strengthen the bond between animals and humans. Simultaneously, the company supports the livestock sector with essential tools, including vaccines, parasiticides, and antimicrobials, contributing to the promotion of sustainable agriculture and public health.

A vision for continued impact

"Our ambition is to continue providing first-class products and services that protect the health of both animals and humans," says Lefteris Vatzelis, general manager of Virbac Hellas. "This 20-year milestone is a testament to the strong relationships we have built with animal health professionals and the tireless dedication of our team. We are truly excited to continue this journey."

Virbac Hellas attributes its success to a collaborative approach, developing strong partnerships with Greek veterinarians. With the scientific support provided and its deep understanding of local needs, Virbac Hellas has become an integral member of the country's animal health community.

Celebrating a milestone

At a special commemorative event, general manager Lefteris Vatzelis discussed the company's transformation from a portfolio composed of 90% farm animal products and 10% companion animal products in 2006, to the reverse today, with 80% of the business now focused on companion animals and a market share of nearly 14% in this segment.

Since its inception, the company's greatest asset has always been its employees. Over the years, we have cultivated a unique team spirit, consistently reflected in every Great Place to Work survey, where our two main key performance indicators—overall perception and trust index—have continuously exceeded 93%.

Thank you all!
