Virbac Thailand: 30 years of commitment to animal health

vignette-site-corpo-anniv-Thailande.jpgBased in Bangkok since 1996, the subsidiary Virbac Thailand is celebrating three decades of growth, regional expertise, and strategic partnerships. It reaffirms South East Asia's key role in the Group’s international expansion.

On September 7, all Virbac Thailand team members and leaders from the Far East Asia (FEA) zone gathered in Bangkok to mark 30 years of serving animal health across the country.

"This ceremony was an opportunity to warmly thank our teams for their daily commitment, as well as our customers and partners for their continued trust. It is through everyone's dedication that Virbac Thailand has become a key player in the region," emphasizes Yotin Dokrakklang, general manager of the subsidiary.

Growth tailored to local needs

Since its launch, the subsidiary has adapted its business model to meet the constant shifts in the Thai market:

  • 1996–2016 | Local anchor and diversification: growth driven by a local partner distribution network, a fourfold increase in product offerings, and the strategic acquisition of Bio-Solution, consolidating the Group's expertise in aquaculture.
  • 2017 | Operational turning point: major acceleration with the creation of a 30-person sales team and the rollout of a multichannel distribution model.
  • Since 2021 | Digitalization and expansion: launch of e-commerce operations in the companion animal segment. The subsidiary now manages a diverse portfolio of 65 products.

Strategy rooted in the Thai veterinary economy

Virbac Thailand's success rests on tight alignment with the region's specific health and economic priorities:

  • Livestock: within a highly structured swine industry, Virbac offers cutting-edge preventive and vaccine solutions, such as oral vaccines against edema disease and piglet diarrhea.
  • Companion animals: driven by rising veterinary care standards and the growing role of pets in households, this segment represents the subsidiary's fastest growth driver.
  • Aquaculture: a key industry in Thailand, aquaculture serves as a strong strategic lever, built upon the long-standing expertise inherited from Bio-Solution.
Virbac Thailand
7th place in the local veterinary market
€13 million in revenue in 2025
+87% growth since 2017

This positive momentum is driven by structured sales to major livestock accounts and the success of digital channels for companion animals.

Building on these 30 years of experience and a dedicated team, Virbac Thailand continues to invest in innovation and local presence to deliver long-term support to veterinarians, farmers, and pet owners across the region.
