Each year, the Gaïa Index lists the 70 best performing French companies on the basis of around 100 criteria related to governance, social and environmental policies and customer/supplier relations. These companies are selected from 230 firms which are listed on the stock exchange according to 14 economic performance criteria.

In 2018, Virbac is once again part of the Gaïa Index. The Group, which joined the ranking for the first time in 2009, ranks 60^th this year. The company improved well compared to 2017, thanks to high scores in particular on the themes of Governance (CSR policy and business conduct, investor relations), Social (working conditions, skills development, equal opportunities), Environment (energy, waste and resource management) and Stakeholder relations (customers, suppliers, product responsibility).

Since its creation, Virbac has chosen to ensure long-term development. Each year, the Group communicates its economic, social and environmental commitments in a dedicated report. Since 2011, this report has been certified GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the international standard for sustainable development reporting.
