Odyssey Program: our digital transformation continues

Vignette_odyssey_RA_24.jpgAfter its implementation in North America in 2022, we are continuing the deployment of our industrial transformation program with the launch in France in April 2024.

For Virbac, Odyssey is much more than an IT upgrade. It is a transformation program, focused on organization, processes and new technologies. Thanks to it, we are strengthening the quality and accessibility of our products, while optimizing our industrial and financial processes.

Four collaborative platforms at the heart of Odyssey

This ambitious program is based on the deployment of four interconnected platforms:

  • ERP (Enterprise resource planning) centralizes and harmonizes the management of our resources, offering a global view and access to information across the company;
  • ePIMS (Electronic purchase information management system) improves supplier relationship and performance management, simplifies indirect purchasing orders and facilitates Group purchasing reporting;
  • MES (Manufacturing execution system) controls and optimizes our production;
  • LIMS (Laboratory information management system) for efficient management of information from our quality control laboratory.

A successful deployment in France

The deployment of Odyssey in France was preceded by an intensive two-year preparation phase, mobilizing a dedicated team. In the days leading up to the launch, fifty employees worked tirelessly to best prepare the switchover plan. A support phase, upstream of the launch, allowed more than 95% of the employees concerned to be trained on the new platforms and operational changes.

In figures, the deployment of Odyssey is:

  • more than 120 employees involved in the project;
  • more than 490 processes supported by digital solutions;
  • more than 650 new pieces of equipment;
  • more than 1,000 employees concerned;
  • more than 1,000 hours of training provided.

Testimonial from an employee: "Six months after deployment, I am very satisfied with this new system. The handling was quick and the teams' adoption was total. We benefit from better traceability and real-time information. This project is a success!"

Odyssey 1.2: the adventure continues

Building on the success of the first phase of this program, which changed operational practices in France and the United States, we began a new stage at the end of 2024: Odyssey 1.2. This new component of the project aims to extend the benefits of this transformation to all of our subsidiaries.
